Garden of the Week - August 31, 2008

609 Hill Avenue

Residence of Denise Mycock and Melissa Czartoryski

A shady oasis greets the garden visitor of this turn of the century
Craftsman style home in the heart of Langhorne Manor. The mature trees
provide enough light through their lacy canopy to allow the lush growth of
an assortment of impatiens, hostas, ivy and a spectacular specimen
called "Limelight" hydrangea.

Meandering paths of river stone leads you around the property to reveal a
charming potting shed that is the latest addition to Denise's home
improvement projects and continues to fuel her passion for gardening.

Around past the shed, garden pathways reveal a lovely slate patio that hosts
a variety of annuals planted in ornamental containers. This colorful vista
is warmed by an outdoor fireplace that extends outdoor enjoyment through
the cooler nights to come.

Many thanks to Denise and Melissa for allowing their amazing home and garden
to be featured on our Holiday House Tour this year to be held on
November 20, 2008! It is a must see home on the tour this year!
