CALENDAR OF EVENTS

2008
The Four Lanes End Garden Club is pleased to announce the kick off of the 2008 "Garden of the Week" program in Langhorne Borough.

Each week in the summer FLEGC will select a garden in Langhorne Borough that will be honored as an outstanding contributor to the continued beautification of the town.

The first garden honored for the week of June 1, 2008 is 154 West Marshall Avenue , the residence of Terri and Ward Doerschuck (reportedly the oldest home in Langhorne, dating back to 1690).

Some of the interesting garden features include a fish pond fed from an underground spring, unusual tree specimens such as a pair of Kentucky coffee trees and a giant California cedar planted beside a stream that runs through the land and a stand of wild bamboo behind the house in Langhorne's open space preserve that backs up to the property.

The garden was featured in the recent "Arts in the Garden" tour sponsored by the Langhorne Council for the Arts and is a familiar spot for Langhorne residents who enjoy strolling along Marshall Avenue across from the golf course.
